Position: Dog Handler

POSITION SUMMARY 

Attends to physical and emotional needs of each dog, ensuring they are well-cared for in a safe, clean environment.

Essential Functions Statement(s) 

  • Must know each dog’s name & breed.
  • Observe and properly respond to each dog’s behavior, body language and temperament. Prevent and/or break up scuffles using facility’s safety protocol.
  • Dogs must be examined for signs of illness or distress and front desk must be notified immediately. Communicate information such as behavior, appetite, unusual bowel movements, vomiting or any other signs of irregularity to front desk.
  • Feed and water dogs according to the daily schedule.
  • Clean and disinfect kennels, crates, indoor play areas and outdoor yards.
  • Must observe safety and security procedures at all times. Report any unsafe procedures to the Location Manager.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail, good judgment, time management and decision making skills and exemplify teamwork.
  • Flexible with work schedule and able to work different shifts as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES 

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; English as a first language and Customer Service Driven.

Experience: Experience with various breeds of dogs a plus. Must be a team player and able to learn quickly and follow directions.

POSITION SUMMARY 

This person takes direction from the Customer Service Team Lead and is responsible for Front Desk and Lobby cleanliness and visual appearance, customer interactions and handling monetary transactions.

Essential Functions Statement(s) 

  • Demonstrates complete professionalism in interactions with team members, management and clients. 
  • Addresses and resolves client complaints in a calm and professional manner; seeking guidance when needed.
  • Ensures the appearance of the lobby area and front desk area are neat, clean and visually appealing, which includes the stocking of supplies and monitoring the overall cleanliness. 
  • Understands and implements front desk and customer service policies and procedures.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail, good judgment and decision making skills and exemplify teamwork. 
  • Assists management in the tracking and ordering of inventory and supplies.
  • Ensures paperwork is complete and accurate for each dog.
  • Ensures the collection of money (cash, check or credit card) is accurate and properly entered into the computer for each transaction. 
  • Notifies dog handlers when dog has arrived and also when owner returns for pick up.
  • Handles all phone calls and transfers to right person or takes accurate message and notifies individual immediately. 
  • Flexible with work schedule and able to work different shifts as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES 

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; English as a first language; computer literate.

Experience: Excellent customer service skills; customer service experience is a plus. Must be a team player and able to multi-task; be a quick learner, detail oriented and able to follow directions.
